Tea cosy

Burnham-On-Sea in Somerset, is a great place for a holiday. It has not 1 but 2 knitting shops. So when I was there last summer I stocked up on some patterns & wool. I found a few  patterns that I wanted to knit just for fun.

I was drawn to this tea cosy pattern because I liked the bell shaped holes in it.
They were a little tricky to knit as it involved casting on 10 stitches
 to create each hole.

The lining was simply 2 squares of garter stitch, gathered at the top.
They didn't knit up very quickly as it was 4ply wool on 3.25mm needles.

All 4 pieces ready to be sewn together.

A perfect fit  for the teapot that my cousin gave me for Christmas.
We do love a nice cup of tea!
